On a rainy, late-night in the office, Leo sat at his desk surrounded by piles of documents, staring at a cup of cold coffee. Turning to his friend, Max, he sighed and said:

"Max... people always say they don't have enough time, that they're too busy. But why does time pass by so fast? Why can't it ever slow down and wait for us?"

Max smiled softly, pulled up a chair next to him, and began to tell a story:

"A long time ago, deep in the forest, lived a mystical merchant named 'Time'. Every single morning, this merchant would walk up to every person and drop exactly 86,400 'gold seconds' into their pockets for free."

"Eighty-six thousand four hundred?" Leo asked, wide-eyed.

"Yes. But there were two strict rules. First: You must spend all of those gold coins before the day ends. You cannot save or roll them over to the next day. Second: The merchant never tells you when he will return to take back whatever is left unspent."

"Wow... surely everyone would spend them wisely then," Leo remarked.

"Well, most people actually don't, Leo," Max continued.

"Some people think, 'Oh, I still have plenty left,' and waste them carelessly. Others hold onto them, waiting for a 'better day' to spend them, letting precious coins slip away. And many simply waste their hours on meaningless distractions, completely forgetting that the merchant could show up at any moment. When night falls and the merchant suddenly walks in to confiscate whatever is left, they are left with empty hands, crying in regret."

Leo fell silent for a moment. Then he whispered, "That merchant... he isn't anyone else. He is Time itself, isn't he, Max?"

"Exactly, Leo," Max said, giving his shoulder a gentle tap.

"Every single morning we wake up, 86,400 seconds are deposited into our lives. None of us can save today's time for tomorrow. Time doesn't love us enough to wait for us; it just keeps flowing forward like a rushing river. If you treat it carelessly and waste it, time will never look back for you. And in the end, when your pockets are empty, all that's left is regret."

Leo didn't say another word. He looked down at his cold coffee, picked up his papers, opened his laptop, and got back to work.
